How are Facebook Sellers Preparing for the 2012 Holiday Season? | Facebook Friday

October 26, 2012

Whether you run a storefront or not, you are aware that the holiday season is quickly approaching. I know some people have already broken out their Christmas music, even though it’s not even Halloween. As we make our way into November, the leaves are turning, and thoughts move to Thanksgiving and Black Friday/Cyber Monday. For those of you who do not know, Cyber Monday is the Monday after Thanksgiving when a huge amount of online shopping is done.

These are the big shopping dates before the winter holidays, but most store owners do expect to see an increase in revenue during these months overall. According to Payvment’s infographic (found below), the majority of Facebook store owners expect to see sales stay the same or increase this year (compared to last).

What are these store owners doing to prepare for and promote this increase? A large portion (48%) plan on running a holiday promotion, whether that be a percentage off, dollars off, or free shipping. But don’t think they are only running these through Facebook! You can find marketing for Facebook stores on multiple channels around the Internet (including Pinterest and email marketing).

I do not have any specific plans, but perhaps this year will be the one in which I venture into Facebook stores to make some holiday purchases!

If you run a Facebook store, please share it below and tell us if these findings line up with your holiday promotional plans!
